I don't think it's possible to create a portfolio in the first place without having an id and password, but the best place to find out about this information is here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/edit/

Thanks for these roundups... very useful.

Although I'm sure I'll regret saying this as you're tempting me back into moving my portfolio monitoring online again.

I spent ages setting up the FT one about a year ago, and found it wanting and very hard to tweak once running. Could have been updated since.

Maybe I should try Google. You always get the impression it's evolving things... or should that be half finished! ;)
I think Yahoo! Finance currently has the best functionality for monitoring a portfolio, but I also use Google Finance as it is better at retrieving and displaying company news from a variety of sources.

I don't know of a paid-for service that is any better.

Overall could you say that it is the best online portfolio manager currently available? I.e. better than Google Finance portfolio etc.?

Also, is there a paid-for online portfolio manager that is better?

Thanks

    Hi,

Good point.

btw, did you find any portfolio website that would remember say a loss of 100 when one security is sold and then show the correct increase when another security is up by 110.
Not sure that either site supports UK stocks, but Morningstar.com and SmartMoney.com both provide automatic credit of dividend receipts. I've used the Morningstar site, and it has style faults, but at least it knows of dividends. I haven't used SmartMoney, I'm just going off what they claim here: http://www.smartmoney.com/tools/?nav=dropTab
You can use Google Data API to retrieve data from Google finance and place it in your site.

Do you know of any way to put the portfolio information on a personal webpage?

I want to show a portfolio on a page, but I want it to update like it does on Yahoo's servers.

I have been looking for a way to do this, and am not married to the idea of using Yahoo. I jsut thought it would be the easiest.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
